100baseT - Definition
100baseT is an Ethernet LAN that runs at a theoretical transmission speed of 100 Mbps (megabits per second) and uses twisted-pair cables. 100 BaseT is 10 times faster than Ethernet (10BasetT). Like 10BasetT, 100BaseT is a shared media LAN with all nodes sharing the faster 100 Mbps bandwidth. It is also known as Fast Ethernet, especially when it was first deployed in 1995.
