10base2 - Definition
10base2 is the Ethernet and IEEE 802.3 standard for Local Area Networks (LANs) with a data rate of 2 Mbps (megabits per second). It uses thin coaxial cable, which is similar to mobile citizen band radio antenna cables. It can have a maximum length of 200 meters where cables connect to network adapters by a BNC connector. When wiring a 10base2 network, special care has to be taken to ensure that cables are properly connected to all T-connectors, and appropriate terminators are installed.
