Adware - Definition
Adware is essentially software programs that are designed to run once you access a web page. You usually observe them in the form of banner or popup ads. When Adware is designed to be installed on your system without your consent, they are usually referred to as Spyware and are used to monitor your surfing habits so their software can deliver better targeted ads. In other instances, the software can be designed to monitor your keyboard keystrokes for the purpose of gaining access to your password protected accounts. This type of Adware is referred to as Malware due to its malicious intent.
