Anchor - Definition
An Anchor is synonymous with Hyperlink. It is the underlined words or phrases within a webpage that you click on to jump to another screen or page. Icons and graphic elements of all sizes and shapes can also serve as clickable anchor links, but are more accurately called Hypergraphics. The word Anchor is used less often than Hyperlink, but it does maintain the seafaring theme of navigating and surfing the Net.
