Applet - Definition
An Applet is a small Java application that is downloaded by an ActiveX or Java-enabled web browser, such as Mozilla Firefox. Once downloaded, the Applet will run on the user’s computer. It is a program designed to be executed from within another application. Unlike software applications, Applets cannot be executed directly from your operating system. Common Applets include: financial calculators and drawing programs.
