Avatar - Definition
An Avatar, in online chatting, is a graphical representation that a user selects as a representation of himself or herself. It can look like a person, an object, a cartoon character or an animal etc. Since an Avatar may look nothing like you, one should choose one that fairly represents the way you would like to be seen (perceived) by the people you are chatting with. The term Avatar essentially refers to the personality connected with the screen name, or handle, of an Internet user.
