Download is a term used to reference the retrieval of information from one computer system to another. When downloading files from the Internet, a computer user makes a request, first identifying the file(s) or program to be copied from the originating website onto the user’s computer. Once the file or program has been downloaded, it now resides on the hard drive of the user’s computer for their usage.
