A File is a collection of stored information. In computer terms, a File is a collection of bits stored as a single unit that enables a computer to distinguish one set of information from another. It is a collection of data that a user can retrieve, change, delete, save, or send to an output device, such as a printer or an email program. Typical files include Word documents, MP3 files, Excel spreadsheets, and saved emails.
