Joystick - Definition
A Joystick is a personal computer input device that looks similar to a control device you would find on an arcade game. It allows an individual to easily navigate an object in a game such as navigating a plane in a flight simulator. Its handheld stick pivots about one end and transmits its movements in two or three dimensions to a computer. The basic idea is to translate the movement of a plastic stick into electronic information a computer can process. The term Joystick has become synonymous with game controllers.
