Page Fault - Definition
A Page Fault is an interruption that occurs when a software program attempts to access an invalid page in memory in Microsoft Windows. Page faults are generally caused by a software issue or conflict, driver issue, or a hardware related issue. In Task Manager, page fault is the number of times data has to be retrieved from disk for a process because it was not found in memory. The page fault value accumulates from the time the process started.
