Telnet - Definition
Telnet is a terminal-emulation protocol that is widely used on the Internet to log on to network computers. Telnet also refers to the application that uses the Telnet protocol for users who log on from remote locations. Telnet enables a user to manage an account or device remotely. Telnet is considered insecure because the transfer of data is not encrypted leaving username and passwords vulnerable to Eavesdropping.
