A Virus in relation to a computer is a piece of code or an actual program that is loaded onto a person’s computer without his or her knowledge. Depending on the type of virus, an entire hard drive can be wiped out in a matter of minutes. Additionally, a computer virus can be transmitted to another computer through shared files or emails. To protect a computer from such viruses, anti-virus software such as McAfee, Symantec, AVG etc., must be downloaded and installed on your system.
