WMP (Windows Media Player) - Definition
Windows Media Player is a software application, produced and distributed by Microsoft, designed to play compressed audio and video files. The application is built into most versions of Windows at no additional cost, but that practice has been challenged in the European Union on grounds of monopolization. Versions of Windows Media Player are available for competing operating systems including Mac OS.
