XHTML (Extensible HyperText Markup Language) - Definition

XHTML is an abbreviation for Extensible HyperText Markup Language. It is a combination of HTML and XML (EXtensible Markup Language). It consists of all the elements in HTML 4.01 combined with the syntax of XML. By combining the strengths of HTML and XML, we receive a markup language that is useful now and in the future. XHTML pages can be read by all XML enabled devices. XHTML gives you the opportunity to write well-formed documents now, that will work in all modern web browsers, such as Mozilla Firefox.
